Tedburn St Mary 4 v 9
Central Redstar
Central finished their season as they had started
with a comprehensive victory.
The last game of the season was played in good sunshine on a pitch, that had as
many daisy's on it, as it had grass, which gave it that of end of season
feeling.
With Tedburn at the bottom of the league the Central Players were determined to
give their all, in endeavouring to produce only their 4th win of the season and
right from the start they placed their dominance on the game.
Charlie Rush scored the first of the game, quickly followed by great headed goal
from Mark Hattersly from a pass from Ben Harrill. Mat Loake starting the game in
the front two scored Centrals 3rd goal with sweet left footed strike past the
Tedburn keeper and Redstars captain George Goodchild grabbing the 4th goal by
half time the Redstar team were playing with confidence.
The second half started the same way as the first with Redstar scoring their 5
goal through Joe Moran closely followed by their 6th scored again by George
Goodchild.
At this point the Tedburn team showed great character and scored 2 quick fire
goals to rock the Central redstar players. It was Charlie Rush who calmed the
Redstar nerves by scoring 2 further goals to complete his 2nd hatrick in two
games to restores Redstars lead to 8 2, but once again the brave tedburn side
rallied and scored their 3rd goal of the game.
With only five minutes of the season remaining and the game won Redstar won a a
corner and the Redstar goal keeper went up to help his forward line, and as fate
would have it the ball broke to Howard Parker the keeper on the edge of the six
yard box and crisp half volley shot to everyone's enjoyment saw him score
Redstars 9th and final goal of the season.
This was not the end of the goals once again Tedburn showed great believe and
scored their 4th goal in the last minute of the game to make the final score 4 9
to Central Redstar.
Redstars man of the match was mark Hattersly who showed great character and
leadership in endeavouring to rally the Redstar players back into action after
Tedburn scored their first 2 goals.
A great and enjoyable effort by all.

Central Redstar 4 V 5 Sidmouth
The last home game of the season for Central Redstar, produced a 9 goal
thriller!
It was Redstar who started the brightest which saw Jacob Carah and Alex Green
score to put them into a 2 0 lead, however Sidmouth scored 2 in 2 minutes to
bring the game back level at half time.
The second half saw a further five goals with Redstar never being able to regain
the lead despite a tremendous effort from the entire team. The game went from
end to end with both goalkeepers being kept busy from the impressive forward
lines from both sides.
Charlie Rush playing only his second game after injury was Centrals man of the
match with powerful display and scoring 2 great goals, the first slotting a shot
pass the keeper after a fine passing move and the second a 25yeard drive into
the top corner from a free kick.
With Sidmouth currently 5th in the league table the closeness of the game shows
the potential that Redstar have to challenge further up the league themselves so
the the future holds much promise for the team.
Redstar now head to their last game of the season with thier confidence high and
the desire to finish the season with a win.

Central Redstar 6 V 2 Tedburn St Mary
On a warm spring evening on a freshly cut pitch
these two teams in the bottom half of the table played an entertaining good
spirited match.
The first 15 minutes of the game saw Central Redstar dominate the game but
failing to finish off the numerous chances created through good build up play.
Redstar took the lead half way through the first half with there leading goal
scorer running onto to a through ball to slot the ball past the on rushing
Tedburn goal keeper.
Once the first goal went in Redstar seem to find their scoring touch and by half
time had taken a 4 1 lead with Ben Harrill completing his hatrick an James
Slater scoring the other goal.
The second half was a closer affair with Redstar again creating numerous chances
but only managing to score a further two goals by substitutes Jacob Carah and
Mat Loake, with Tedburn scoring a second goal, rewarding their great attitude to
the game.
All of Redstars players gave a great performance with Captain George Goodchild
leading by example thus gaining the man of the match reward.

Central Redstar 1 V 6 Stoke hill
On a warm morning a game that never really seemed
to get going was played on pitch that resembled a meadow more than a football
pitch!
High flying Stoke Hill proved why they are destined for promotion this year with
a powerful display.
The first half saw Redstars keeper Howard Parker called into action a number of
times and with combination of fine saves and near misses Stoke Hill were only 2
0 up with a couple of minutes togo before the break but then on a rare attacking
move Redstars leading goal scorer Ben Harrill scored a brilliant goal with a
well placed powerful left footed drive into the corner of the net, making the
half-time score 21 to Stoke Hill.
Redstar pulling them selves back into the game showed the great character this
team has had throughout the season.
The second half saw Redstar more confident in their approach but it was Stoke
Hill who scored next making the score 31.
At this Redstars Man of match Howard Parker came off injured and was replaced in
goal by Louis Wenley
and shortly after Stoke Hill scored further goals despite the efforts of Louis
who showed great bravery in coming a ball at the feet of the Stoke Hill forward
and getting a bad knee to the head resulting in Louis having to replaced in goal
by midfielder Jacob Carah!
Stoke hill ran out 6 1 winners but Redstar performed well and with only 3 games
left of their season they have a chance to finish the season on a high.
Well, done to Stoke Hill on their promotion.
Saturday 11th April 2009
Sidmouth 3 v 1
Central Redstar
On a bright sunny morning on a pitch with its grass cut (for a change) a
very entertaining tight fixture was played out in a good manner between two
teams each given 100%.
With Sidmouth in the top half of the table and Redstar 3rd from bottom with only
2 wins all season the first half was very close with both sides creating many
chances. It was Sidmouth who took the lead half through the half but with
thunderous drive from the edge of the area James Slater equalised for Redstar
just before the half time break.
Like many games this season the next goal in the game was going to be important
and it was Redstar who started the brightest with its frontline being lead by
Ben Harrill playing the lone striker role superbly but it was central midfielder
Mark Hatterlsy who turned and stroke a left shot just wide of the post from six
yards out and with Captain George Goodchild seeing is 20yard shot deep just over
the bar Central would be left to curse those near misses with Sidmouth
eventually scoring 2 quick goals to run out 31 winners.
The performance of all the Central team was excellent and with a bit of luck
they could have grabbed a draw or even a win but they left with no points but
their pride in tact and the knowledge that they gave everything.
The entire back 5 had a good game from the goalkeeper and right across the back
four but it was the left back Isacc Harroway Moore was Redstars man of the match
for his sheer footballing performance.
Well, done to all.
Saturday 4th April 2009
Central Redstar 0 v 5 Exwick Youth
For the 2nd game in a row due to various
commitments Redstar were missing 5 of their first 11 leaving just 11 available
players.
Exwick took the lead about 15 minutes into the game with having pulled of a
great save early on Redstars keeper miss judged a long range shot letting it
slip next to the post. Redstar continued to battle but it was Exwick who scored
a 2nd, taking a 2 0 lead into have time.
Redstar started the second half strongly with the wind now at their backs but
despite the good efforts from Ben Harrill and Jacob Carah they could not get the
breakthrough and it was Exwick who scored their 3rd and went to run our winners
5.0
There has been to many times this season that despite every player who has taken
to the pitch for Redstar giving 100% it has been so rare that the strongest 11
players have taken to the pitch. I am confident that the day we field our
strongest team supported by a full selection of able substitutes we can compete
very favourably against the majority of this league, I hope that can be achieved
over the last 5 games of the season.
Jacob Carah was Redstars man of the match for his 100% commitment to the cause.
Saturday 21st March 2009
Pinhoe Spitfires 4 v 2 Central Redstar
Once again the performance from Redstar was a
huge improvement than the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
Central Redstar missing 5 first team players were left with just the bare 11
players to face high flying Pinhoe at their own ground.
Redstar set up in a new formation and it helped produce a battling performance
which saw Redstar run out close 4 2 losers.
The first half saw both teams fairly compete and with only 1 goal separating the
teams with Pinhoe scoring just before half time.
The second half saw once again both teams start strongly but it was Redstar who
equalised through Ben Harrills neat finish from a through ball from Mark
Hattersley, however only a few minutes later with the Pinhoe forward charging
into the six yard box the Redstar goalkeeper Howard Parker failed to make
contact with his clearance and thus Pinhoe retook the lead.
Louis Wenley making a rare start for Redstar saw his header cleared of the line
by a great save form the Pinhoe keeper if this had gone in it would have been
fair reflection on the game a view shared by both managers.
However it was Pinhoe who quickly scored another 2 to take a 4 1 lead but once
again to Redstars credit they did not give up and another inch perfect ball from
Mark Hattersly put Harry Mcrea Smith who managed to slot the ball pass on the
rushing keeper to make the final score 4 2 to Pinhoe Spitfires.
All of Centrals team gave 100% to the cause on the hottest day of the year to
date but special praise should be given to Louis Wenly and Jonny May who stuck
to their roles brilliantly, Centrals Man of the match was Luke Dracup Slee who
defended resolutely against Pinhoes tricky left winger Harry Vickery.
Having been forced into the formation which worked well this might give the
Central the opportunity to turn whole hearted performance into victories over
the last few games of the season.
Saturday 7th March 2009
Central 1-3 St Martins
The rematch between these two teams was a far
closer affair the early season 8 1 victory for st martins.
The first half saw each team commit themselves fully and it was only an
unfortunate own goal by James Henson of Redstar that separated the teams at half
time.
With the game evenly balanced the next goal was going to be crucial. It was half
way through the 2nd half when St Martins broke away and scored their 2nd with
Redstar knocked by the goal St martins went on and scored a quick 3rd, but to
Redstars credit they managed to pull a goal back with a scrambled goal with Mark
Hattersley getting the final touch after good work from Jacob Carah on his
return to Redstar.
A game played in good spirit between 2 teams who over the years have enjoyed a
number of close games with this one being no different.
Redstar's man of the match was Harry Mcrea Smith who gave a 100% committed
performance both attacking and defending down his favoured left wing.
This game once again showed the improvement of Redstar over the season I am
confident that the improved performances will be converted into wins very soon.
Saturday 28th Feb 2009
Central 2-4 Willand
A 30 yard wonder strike from Redstars Ben Harrill
was not enough to give Central the win as Willand ran out winners 2 4.
A game where both sides enjoyed good spells in the game, with Willand taking a 1
o lead before Redstar Captain George Goodchild slotted home an 18yard drive to
make the score 1 1. Then Ben Harrill hit a perfect strike from 30 yards to give
Redstar a 21 lead.
Willand just before the break scored two quick fire goals to take a 3 2 lead.
At the start of the second half both teams knew that the next goal was going to
be so important and for 25 minutes both teams gave their all, both showing great
spirit and effort but it was Willand who finally scored to make the score 24
which turned out to be the final score.
With teams playing the game in a good spirit towards each other, the game was
only spoilt by a large chunk of over fussy refereeing which caused unnecessary
ill feeling.
Isacc Harroway Moore was Redstars man of the match showing great skill and
composure defending the speedy Willand attack force.
Despite the defeat Redstar continued their improvement, giving great promise for
the rest of the season.
Saturday 14th Feb 2009
Broadclyst 0 - 5 Central Redstar
With 3 of Redstar strongest players missing the
game between the 2 sides on equal points in the league was going to be a crucial
game for what ever side won.
It was Redstar who pulled together as a team to totally dominate the match to
run out 5 0 winners.
New signing James Slater started the scoring with a power strike from the edge
of the area and this followed up with Ben Harril scoring 2, Alex Green scoring 1
and James Slater scoring his second to round off an impressive debut.
Infact the score line could have been a lot more if was not for the gallant
effort of the Broadclyst goal keeper.
Each and every one of the 12 man Redstar squad gave 100% and made light of the
missing squad members. throughout the pitch individual battles were won and with
Redstar keeping their 1st clean sheet of the season it is the defence where
Redstars man of the match could be found, Johnny May a loyal squad member
stepped into the centre of defence a played a mistake free game, assisted my his
fellow defensive team-mates.
This was an important win for Redstar and the confidence that this give the team
can only help with the remaining games of the season.
Well done Redstar
Saturday 31st Jan 2009
Feniton 4 - 3 Central Redstar
Both teams produced a good spirited match with
Feniton running out 4 3 winners.
The first half was what is now become the normal for central Redstar with
Redstar producing many chances but failing to score and allowing Feniton to take
a 2 0 half time lead.
Then in the 2nd half Charlie Rush scored for Redstar to set up an exiting 2nd
half for the both teams supporters to enjoy.
However as soon as redstar had got themselves back the game Feniton took a 3 1
lead but with redstars tails up the score was soon back to 32 with Alex Green
scoring for redstar but once again it was Feniton who showed great spirit and
went 4 2 ahead.
Redstar sent their powerful centre back Joe Moran up into mid field to try to
get back into the game and this immediately paid of with Joe Moran scoring a 3rd
for redstar with a brave run into the area before shooting in to the net.
However despite the best efforts of redstar Feniton held on to win the game 43,
but Redstar take great pride in actually scoring 3 goals and with improved
performance from Mat Loake and an excellent skill full performance by man of the
match Isaac Harroway Moore I am confident that Redstar can build on there
performance in the forth coming matches.
Saturday 17th Jan 2009
St Martins 8 - Central Redstar 1
After what can only be described as very long
Christmas break Redstar started 2009 with an 8 1 defeat to St Martins.
The first half saw each team battle hard but it was St martins who took their
chances to run into a 3 0 half time lead leaving Redstar playing in a new
formation for the first time regretting missing their own chances.
With Redstar forced into making a further change at half time due to injury it
was St Martins who settled first again and raced into a 7 0, Redstar never gave
up and played some of their best football of the game inspired by Mark Hattersly
( man of the match) who moved from the back four into his normal position of mid
field playmaker.
Redstar's goal came after a mistake by the St martins goalkeeper allowing harry
McRea Smith to pounce and slot home Redstar's only goal of the game but with a
better finishing could have easily scored a lot more.
With St Martin's running out 8 1 deserved final winners a harsh lesson was
learnt by the Redstar Manager that he should always play people in their noremal
postions instead of changing the things when he is missing a player or 2!!
Alex Green, Howard Parker, Jonny May & James Henson were the pick of the other
Redstar players.
I have confidence that Central Redstar will find their true potential in 2009
and move up the league table.
Manager
Nigel Parker

Central Redstar 3 - 8 Exwick (Cup Match)
Two evenly matched teams ended the first half
still at 00 in this sceond round cup game, however the 2nd half produced 8
goals!
It was central who started the 2nd half the sharpest rushing into a 2 0 lead
with goals from charlie rush and alex green scoring his first ever central goal.
It was then exwicks turn to score not 1 but 5 goals with out response!
Central's defence openned up to allow exwick to run riot for a 15mintue period,
to their credit central pulled a goal back with central's man of the match
charlie rush scoring his second after he himself was tripped in the area and got
up to smash home the spot kick.
Central continue to look for their 2nd win of the season and showed once more
that they have the capability of beating any team but must concentrate and play
with passion and determination for the whole game.
Saturday 22nd November 2008
Stoke Hill 1-Central Redstar 0
Central Redstar produced their best performance
of the season in restricting League leaders Stoke hill to just a 1-0 victory.
In a game where both teams gave their all and provided a very competitive game
and until the final whistle the result was far from clear.
The entire Central Redstar team produced a performance that far from resembled
their lowly league position, it was performance based a 100% committed team
effort with every player, rasing their game to test fully the strong unbeaten
Stoke Hill team.
Stoke Hills goal came near the end of the 1st half despite the best efforts of
the Redstar goal keeper Howard Parker who managed to get one hand to the strong
shot.
The performance throughout the team was excellent with the back 4 lead by the
2No strong Centre halfs Joe Moran and James Henson who restricted the impressive
Stoke Hill forward line to mainly long shots.
The Midfield 4 also battled hard trying create chances from the forward line.
I hope that the entire Redstar Team will take the confidence from this
performance and start their rise up the league.
Man of match was the entire Redstar team.
Saturday 18th September 2008
Willand Rovers 3 - 0 Central Redstar
It was Willand who had the upper hand in the
first 20 minutes creating numerous chances to score but the vastly improving
Redstar defence kept them at bay but it was Willand who took the lead with
thunderous shot onto the top corner from the angle. The reminder of half was
then nominated by Redstar who enjoyed their best spell in the game going very
close on a number of occasions to equalising including a rasping shot from Harry
mcreCrea rebounding of the cross bar and the Willand goal keeper pulling off a
great save from a Ben Harril free kick.
The second half began with both sides battling well and knowing that the next
goal was going to be deceive and it was the home side Willand who scored it and
with the game now won they grabbed a 3rd near the end to run out winners 3 - 0.
This game was a lot closer than the score line showed with Redstar producing
their best performance of the season with the back four producing a well
organised hardworking performance.
Man of the Match: Luke Dracup Slee
producing by far his best game of the season to date and therefore receiving the
award.
Saturday 4th October 2008
Central Redstar 1 - 9 Moors
Central Redstar lost 1 9 to top of the league
Moore's youth who were just to strong for the hard working Redstar team.
Once again Redstar were physically out sized by the entire Moore's team and it
was their strength and speed that enabled them to run out comfortable winners.
The first half was a tight affair with Moore's taking a 1 3 lead at the interval
with Charlie Rush grabbing his 3rd goal of the season for Redstar and nearly
scored a second but shot right at the keeper.
Redstar attempted to pass their away around the Moore's players and it was a
pleasure to see them attempt this with some success despite the 50mm grass found
all over the pitch.
With Moore's superior strength during the second half they ran through the
Redstar defence to score 5 further goals.
Despite the score line Redstar continued with their attempts to play their
passing game which with each game is improving which can only mean Redstar will
will return to winning ways soon.
Man of the Match: James Henson for his excellent performance and never
give attitude, narrowly getting the vote over Mat Loake who played his best game
in a Redstar shirt.
Saturday 4th October 2008
Stoke Hill 8 - 3 Central Redstar
Central reduced to just 11 available players took
on the previously unbeaten Stoke Hill side in the 1st round of the cup both
sides made an it a very close entertaining classic cup tie.
The 1st half saw both teams give 100% and share 5 goals, Stoke hill took the
lead only to see Mark Hattersly score his 1st goal of the season to equalise for
Redstar. Stoke hill then raced in to a 3 1 lead but on the stroke half time
Keanu Clarke also scored his 1st goal of the season for Redstar to make the half
time score 3 2 to Stoke Hill.
Redstar started the 2nd half with only 10 men due to the illness of their centre
back power house Joe Moran.
Stoke hill took advantage quickly scored their 4the goal Despite being reduced
to 10 men if was Redstar who scored next with Charlie Rush scoring their 3rd
goal making the score 4 -3 and set up an exiting end to the game however with
Stoke hill able to reinforce their team with fresh substitutes they over powered
a tiring Redstar team and ran away in the last 10 minutes of the game scoring 4
more goals to run out winners by 8 3.
Despite the defeat Redstar produced their best team performance of the season
and gave high flying Stoke Hill a real scare.
Man of the Match:
Despite strong performances from Mark Hattersly and Keanu Clarke I have given
the man of the match award to the entire team for their fantastic effort.
Saturday 27th September 2008
Central Redstar 2 - 7 Feniton
An all ready depleted Redstar team were simply
over powered by a physically superior Feniton team, and with a number of further
injuries throughout the game to the Redstar team making it more like a scene
from Casualty than a football match at some points! Feniton powered their way to
a 2 7 victory.
Fenitons dominance in size and stature helped them run away to 1 5 lead at half
time with Redstars only goal being scored by Joe Moran who headed in a perfect
corner delivered by Ben Harrill.
The second half was a more closer affair with Ben Harrill scoring a powerful
free kick from 20 yards however it was Feniton who went on to win 2 7.
One player for Redstar stood out with his 100 committed performance, Alex Green
gave his by far his best performance in a Redstat shirt and deserved his Man of
the Match award.
Saturday 20th September 2008
Central Redstars 6 - 1 Broadclyst
SC
A 20 yard curler into the top corner from Harry
Mcrea Smith started Redstars season with a bang.
Central Redstar dominated the game despite a galant effort from Broadclyst,
Central ran out 6 1 winners with goals from Charlie Rush, George Goodchild, Ben
Harrill also Harry Mcrea Smith grabbed a second and Broadclyst added their woe
by scoring an own goal.
Central gave debuts to Mat Loake and Alex Green who both performed well.
It is good to start the season with a win and I am sure that Redstar can build
on this win and have an enjoyable successful season.
Harry Mcrea was Redstars man of the Match - well done Harry
