Under 14s Main Page Match Reports Sponsors What Peter & Tom said last time out Tom gives the lie to the image of Millwall fans as undesirable characters - well, most of the time- while Pete, formerly an advocate of the oval ball game, keeps his allegiances close to his chest but has been a Liverpool supporter for longer than he remembers (Any one remember Steven Gerrard's strike from almost the halfway line against Middlesborough this season?)
The u/11s in pre-season training
Many of the boys in the squad, which numbers around 25, have been together since the U/8 age group, and, with the steady development of their game and the addition of some new talent have made big strides season by season. This progress can be seen in last season's results. Central AC lost just two league games all season, recording 11 wins and 9 draws. Notable results included an early 2-2 draw against highly- fancied Crediton Arrows, a game they were leading until the last minute of an inexplicably long second-half,and a 3-1 thumping of West Exe Athletic, a team they lost to 8-0 the last time they met, on the final day of last season. Central Red Star's development as a team has been equally impressive. Significant losses at U/9s have been put behind them with early season wins of 8-0 against Alphington Wolves and the team regularly drawing and winning matches giving them a creditable season- no doubt helped by an excellent team spirit. Their win against a strong St Martins side by 2-1 showed how far the team has developed. Both teams enjoy fantastic support from a core of parents who muck in to help with putting up of goals, helping out with training sessions, refereeing games, encouraging the boys and opposition officials! |
