And despite, at times packed defences it didn't stop the goals flowing.

Despite the lead changing throughout the match, Central finished the stronger to record a 7-5 win.

It was a good game played in good spirit, we would like to thank everyone from Newquay for an enjoyable game, Thanks also to the Referee.

Central Women also beat Feniton in a friendly by the margin of 10-0, despite having many players un-available due to holidays. That makes it 17 goals scored in two games.

1st Qualifying round of the FA Cup

Team Bath 3 Central 2

The game started well for Central as Laura Burwood unleashed a long range Shot that fizzed wide after 3 mins, a minute later K-lee Beer received return pass from Kylie McKie but with her back to goal could not get her Shot off, the first time team bath got into Centrals half, Hannah Edmondson hit a tame shot at Melissa Cross in the Central goal, This proved to be the spur Central needed when Jodie Mills broke down the right beating her marker and crossing dangerously into the area only for Nicola Guest to turn it into her own goal.

Laura Burwood was having an impact on the game with long accurate passes, but it was Team Bath, who came back with two long shots from Alice Burns, Laura Burwood got injured in the 17th minute a blow to her shoulder she left the field only to come back and injure her ankle straight away in a tackle, she did continue, in the 26th minute Amy Backhouse sent Kylie McKie away with a great long ball but Kylie stretching got the ball pass the Keeper but not the last defender,

Team Bath served notice that they were still in the game when on 29mins Mel Sartain sent an angled drive against the base of the post, then in the 39 min with Bath pushing hard only a great tackle by Leah Mimms on the edge of the penalty box prevented Bath breaking through. Mel Sartain then had a header nodded of the line by Centrals Jodie Mills.

Half time 1-0 to Central

The second half started quietly and with out much action until a mix up in defence led to Bath levelling on 55mins a cross came in from the right and at the Far post Mel Sartain poked home from a couple of yards, this brought a response from Centrals Manager Will McKie who sent on Kirsty Brown and She was involved straight away with a run and cross from the right which caused problems, and followed up with a shot that just went wide and on 65 mins Central went back in front after a succession of corners, and the ball dropped from one of these to Jodie Millett to prod past Sian Allen in goal,

this seemed to have settled the tie as the game faded a bit and just when it was looking good for Central who were on top a 76 min corner that was not cleared fell to Natasha Miller to stroke home, despite both sides trying to force a winner nothing really happened and it was heading fro extra time when in the 94th minute of the game Central fell behind to their Premier Division opponents for the first time, a clearance fell to Nicola Dorey who had time to look up and lob the retreating Goalkeeper, Even with two more minutes of play Central could not force a Equaliser, which they surely deserved. It was a good game and Central will take lots of positives from it and look for ward to next weeks match at Dorchester.

Jodie Millett then sent a shot at Wales who saved it, in the 52nd minute Abby Yukon sent Kylie McKie away but she put her shot wide.in the 60th minute a succession of corners led to Gemma Norman of Central shooting wide,

The 71 minute brought an equaliser for Dorchester when Clare Southern got the goal she deserved by running through the Central defence and strongly shooting past Melissa Cross. If Dorchester felt that there was something in the game for them then Gemma Norman dashed thier hopes by walzting through the defence before rounding the keeper and tapping home in the 75 minute.

The game was put out of Dorchesters reach when following two efforts from K-Lee Beer and Kylie McKie that were saved, Central went 3-1 up in 78th minute when a great run by Abby Yukon was finished with a superb cross that picked out Kylie McKie at the far post to stab home, within a minute Clare Southern headed over from a corner to warn Central that it was still not over,

and then the second

Below the third goal

Report

Well what do you say, after last weeks very good performance,Central failed to turn up for the first half which saw them trail 4-0, and it got worse before it got better, from 5-0 down in the 47th minute, Central at last woke up and made a match of it on the hour and did get the score back to 5-3, only for player of the match Nicky Barton to score her fifth goal in injury time.

Central never got started and found themselves a goal behind inside two minutes through Nicky Barton who headed in a corner when left totally unmarked, a second on eight minutes when a Weymouth player broke and finished firmly into the corner,Central were under intense pressure but broke on 14 minutes and Kylie Mckie hit the bar with her shot, but two minutes later Nicky Barton scored again with a tap in when Melissa Cross had blocked a shot.

Just when things looked like they could not get any worse, Central lost Abby Yukon who when fouled fell heavily on her ankle and was taken to Hospital, and Nicky Barton then completed her hat-trick after 38mins, Central started to get a grip and forced two efforts across goal but went in at half time 4-0 down.

Within two minutes of the restart Nicky Barton had yet another tap in to make it five, But to the credit of the Central girls they got themselves back into the game with the kind of football they can play, but it was not until 60 minutes that from a corner Gemma Norman nodded home, seven minutes later K-Lee Beer broke and with a cool finish to pull it back to 5-2. and Laura Burwood with a free kick inside the box for the keeper picking up and putting down the ball before picking it up again.

There was still time for Central to mount many more attacks but could not get the fourth and salt was well and truly rubbed in the wounds when Nicky Barton scored in injury time to make it 6-3.

Swindon T Res 2 Central 4

Pat sowden Cup 1st round,

After a even start to the game with no real chances to note, the first 20 mins were quite tight, but on 28 mins a Swindon striker gained possession of the ball and shot low through a crowd of players from outside the box with the Keeper unsighted, however Central soon hit back in the 31 min when a Laura Burwood corner was turned in by Jodie Millett on the line.

Then a couple of chances for Central with both Haylee Pannell and Kylie McKie going close, Central went into the lead in the 40th min when Jodie Millett broke down the right and crossed fro K-Lee Beer to score from 5 yards out, K-Lee Beer then put Central firmly in control two minutes into injury time when she took on two defenders and fired home from fully 35 yards in to the top corner.

HT 1-3

Central came out in the second half positive and still in the ascendancy both Kylie McKie and K-Lee Beer both firing wide, and Two Laura Burwood free kicks being saved by the Swindon keeper, and Haylee Pannell also having a shot cleared off the line before truly against the run of play in the 82 min Swindon broke and got a free kick on the edge of the penalty area and whilst Central arranged a wall the Swindon Player fired home,

But player of the match K-L ee Beer latched on to a fantastic through ball out of defence from Jodie Mills and closed in on the keeper and showed one way and slotted the ball the other to claim a hat-trick. And set Central up with a 2 nd round home tie with Exeter City in November.

Manager Will Mckie said afterwards that although K-Lee Beer would get the headlines for a hat-trick he was keen to praise the whole team for a good performance in which every player did her job, but did single out Melissa Cross the goal keeper for a solid display between the sticks.

Central 1 Keynsham Town Reserves 3

The Game started with early Central pressure and in only the 3 rd minute Kylie Mckie fashioned an opportunity for herself only to shot wide, the same player broke on her own again in the fifth minute but was forced down the left wing where the danger was thwarted by the Keynsham defence. A minute later Kylie Mckie again found space but shot wide.

Keynsham who are the unbeaten league leaders were just finding their feet in the game and Kayliegh Sage went on a rampaging run before unleashing a shot that Melissa Cross saved in the 14 th minute, with 21 minutes on the clock Keynsham were put under pressure when Becky Maunder sent in a cross come shot that the keeper saved at the near post,

Kayleigh Sage broke forward and was challenged by Lousie Letheren who conceded a corner from which Sage sent her header straight at Cross in the goal, the goal arrived in the 26th minute when Charlotte Plum twisted and turned several times on the right wing before sending a looping shot over Cross in the Central goal, Keynsham now were in the ascendancy and another attempt from one of their strikers on the turn was well saved by Cross again,

33rd minute saw Sage start another mazy run which resulted in Cross saving well again, Keynsham were well on top despite a couple breaks from Central who were still in the game without ever really threatening, A corner in the 43rd Minute was headed wide by the Keynsham attack, but just on half time Keynsham got a second goal when a good cross from the right found Kayleigh Sage and she controlled the ball before firing home from 10 yards. But there was still time for a long range effort from Centrals Gemma Norman that the keeper had no problem with.

Half time 0-2

The second half started with a lot of pressure from the home side who started to carve out chance after chance Kylie Mckie broke on her own and shot over and Gemma Norman shot at the keeper inside the first five minutes of the half, after a couple of corners from Central came to nothing as did another Gemma Norman shot, but in the minute 54th minute Keynsham broke into Central’s half and Melissa Cross saved again, Laura Burwoods freekick came to nothing as Central upped the pressure,

With 60 minutes gone Central introduced Kirsty Brown for Amy Backhouse and straight away a Laura Burwood header from a left wing cross flashed inches wide, two minutes later Kirsty Brown closed in on goal from the right and hit her shot well but the keeper saved and the ball went for a corner, as it looked as if Central would finally get back into the game it happened again they were caught on the break and a good move down Keynsham’s left result in Kayleigh Sage cutting in from the left to the middle of the goal before firing a shot back to the left to beat Melissa Cross 3-0.

Central could have folded there and then but to their credit came straight back at Keynsham and a one two between Laura Burwood and Kylie McKie resulted in Burwood surging into the area and smashing the ball home on 71 minutes, the Keynsham number 10 then hit a snapshot that Cross in goal made a fine save, despite having the better possession now Central could not get another goal and this was summed up in the 84 th min when a scramble in the Keynsham area did everything but go in, even so Kayleigh age still had time to shot wide in search of her hat-trick.
