Central Utd 1 Sidmouth 0

United played a close fought encounter with Sidmouth which was full of end to end action. Central opened their account when Aiden Pring converted a fine cross from Ben Haigh on the right which fell at Aidens feet just in side the box from where he blasted the ball over the outstretched hands of the Sidmouth Keeper. Sidmouth fought back and brave defending by Reece Allen and a fine performance from Adam Cotgrove in goal maintained the clean sheet until the final whistle.

Central Utd 6 Countess Wear 0

An Early goal from Reece Allen set the scene for a 6 goal Fest from Central United against Countess Wear Dynamos. Using a combination of experienced players and some new talent in the form of Benedict Yapp, Joseph Glenny and Callum Davison, Central piled on the pressure for most of the match. Callum squeezed in the second through a tightly packed goalmouth area and Aiden Pring made it 3 before the break. With a comfortable lead,

Central were able to experiment with players in new positions which gave James Pearce an opportunity for some good midfield play . A scintillating run by Ben Haigh won a corner for Central which was well converted into the fourth goal for Central by Reece. Ben got his just rewards a few minutes later knocking in Central's fifth.

A fine run down the left by Thomas Roome beating two defenders and then slotting home the sixth capped the day . In the closing moments the Dyanamos fought back but the defence held firm to allow united to record their second clean sheet of the day and run in worthy victors.

Crediton Saints A 5 Central Utd 2

Two tough fought games saw Central United suffer their first defeat of the season but then make up for it with a return to winning form.

After holding off a stronger Crediton Saints A side for the first quarter, four goals in quick succession could have sunk United's hearts but the players showed great character and resilience and a right foot strike from Thomas Roome saw them go in 4-1 down at half time.

United started the second half with their tails tails up and a wonder goal from Jim Shepherd shooting from just inside the half way line gave room for encouragement. Crediton always had United under pressure and only another fine performance from Adam Cotgrove in goal prevented further goals.

Crediton Saints A 5 Central City 0

Crediton were much the stronger side and played some good football to leave City 0 - 4 down at half time. Jake Newman made some good saves and was supported well in defence by Ruari Mold and James Bryant. Nathan Townsend again did well in midfield, supported by Callum Davison.

Despite the strong opposition, City never gave up, competed well and kept working hard until the end, putting in a spirited second half performance.

Crediton Saints B 1 Central City 1

City fought back well after going behind to a first half goal. In a tight game, Ruari Mold and Jamie Hamond in defence and Nathan Townsend and Harvey Young in midfield, competed well. A hard working team performance got its reward in the second half when Bradley Down scored a deserved equaliser for City.

Crediton Saints B 0 Central Utd 1

It was hard going on a boggy sloping pitch but United always looked like holding onto the early lead given to them by Jim Shepherd from a well struck free kick that went in soaring over the keepers hands, after Reece Allen had been brought down on a surging run through midfield.

Crediton pushed up, but first James Pearce in the first half and then Joseph Glenny in the second, helped keep a strong defensive line. David Carver came on in the second half and helped in attack but a second goal could not be found.

Brixington Blues 4 Central City 2

Despite goals from James Pearce and Reece Allen, Brixington Blues proved too strong for Central City

West Hill Wasps 1 Central City 2

Having scored in the first game James Pearce went in goal against West Hill allowing Adam Cotgrove to put in a fine battling performance out on pitch for a change.

Bradley Down scored from an unstoppable long range strike which saw the ball rifled into the top corner of wasps goal. Ruari Mold and Harvey Young provided some pace through midfield leading to some good flowing football from city.

West Hill Wasps 1 Central Utd 1

Central United were unlucky to concede an equaliser after Jim Shepherd had opened the scoring in the first half. Some of the squads younger players put in creditable displays in their first showing for United including Freddie James, Harry Roome and James Bryant.

Brixington Blues 1 Central Utd 1

A tough fought and very even game saw Central United draw 1-1 with Brixington Blues. United once again took the lead in the first half after Jim Shepherd pounced on a quickly taken throw in to slot the ball low into the far corner of the Blues net. The second half saw Brixington fight back and Central needed the boundless energy of Thomas Roome and Ben Haigh to dig deep and contain the score at 1-1. Jake Newman was called upon many times in the United goal but proved equal to the task.

Brixington Blues 2 Central City 4

1st Rnd Cup

Central City have gone through to the 2nd round of the cup with a well deserved win over Brixington. Bradley Down opened the scoring in the first half but Brixington equlaised soon after from a corner when the ball seemed to get stuck in a mud patch in Central's goal mouth.

Early in the second half Reece Allen shot from long range out on the right wing and the Brixington keeper could only stand and watch as the ball looped over into the top left hand corner of his goal. A neat move saw Ben Haigh flick on from a Thomas Roome throw and Aiden Pring collected, spun round and shot low to the left of the Brixington keeper to make it 3-1.

Brixington fought back to 3-2 and Central had to rely on Jake Newman to keep further shots out before Aiden Pring sealed the game for Central with his second goal of the game. Jim Shepherd and Ruari Mold played well.

Friendly Game

Central 1 Brixington Blues 1

A friendly game ended with honours even. Central took the lead when Reece Allen scored within 30 seconds of coming on as a substitute. City dominated in midfield with Benedict Yapp and Ruari Mold playing well. Good defending from Harry Roome and brave goal keeping by Jake Newman kept Brixington at bay until a couple of minutes from full time when they found the equaliser.

Central City 1 Cullompton Wolves 1

A close and goaless first half saw City competing well. Cullompton had chances and there were some good saves from James Bryant and good defensive work from Harvey Young and Ben Haigh.

Mid-way through the second half Cullompton went ahead, but City never gave up and got a deserved equaliser late in the game when Reece Allen scored a good goal. In midfield James Pearce and Callum Davison did well.

A good team performance was complete when William Caschere, Kalhan Jogireddy and Benedict Yapp all came on in the second half and helped earn a hard working draw for City.

Central Utd 0 Cullompton Coyotes 2

Central United were under pressure from a strong Cullompton Coyotes for most of the match. Ruari Mold in defence and Jake Newman in goal were instrumental in keeping the score down to reasonable level. Barnaby Gard made his first match appearance for Central coming on in midfield for the second half.

Early in the game City nearly went ahead through a good solo run and shot from Bradley Down. After that, Cullompton were too strong for City and scored some good goals.

City never gave up and the whole team, including the same replacements in the second half, battled hard throughout.

Central Utd 3 Cullompton Wolves 3

Central United made a bright start against Cullompton Wolves after Thomas Roome fired in a goal when Jim Shepherd's free kick deflected off the Cullompton wall. Jim made it 2-0 before half time. Harry Roome and Joseph Glenny kept things tight at the back until Cullompton got one back early in the second half. Another goal from Jim Shepherd looked to have it safe for Central but Culompton fought back and a last minute equaliser denied Central the victory

Westexe 2 Central City 0
(Cup Match)

Although under pressure for most of the first half Central were a little unlucky to find themselevs a goal down at half time after a goalmouth scramble resulted in the ball just creeping over the line shortly before the break. Ruari Mold was a towering strength in defence rarely letting anyone beat him. Central pushed up in the second half but were caught on the break leaving Jake Newman with little chance of stopping West Exe 2nd goal.

Heavitree Buzzards 0 Central City 5

Central City always looked in control against Heavitree Buzzards and took the lead 10 minutes into the game through Thomas Roome. A goal fest in the second half saw Bradley Down score from distance twice, celebrating in style with a cartwheel!. More Central pressure saw Callum Davison poke one in during a goal mouth scramble. In the dying seconds Bradley ran through on goal but a mis timed challenge saw him face down in the mud. A penalty was awarded and Bradley stepped up to hit an unstoppable shot passed a transfixed Heavitree keeper and round off the game with his hat trick.

Heavitree Kestrels 0 Central City 3

Good link up play between new signing Richard Deeshapland and Bradley Down saw Central City go in one up at half time against Heavitree Kestrels. Early in the second half Billy Curran made a vital tackle just inside his own half and fed the ball through to Bradley who ran forward to score his 2nd of the game (and fifth of the day!). Jim Shepherd fed off a Nathan Townsend pass to surge forward and make in 3-0 to Central. Late pressure from Heavitree was comfortably dealt with by William Caschere and Thomas Roome dropping back into defence.

Heavitree Kestrels 3 Central United 2

United started the game well and scored a deserved goal in the first half by Aiden Pring, which was cancelled out just before half-time.

Some forced positional changes in the second half saw United caught cold early on and Heavitree scored two quick goals.

Heavitree had more of the second half possession, but United battled well and Aiden Pring scored his second to set up a close finish, but Heavitree held on.

Heavitree Buzzards 2 Central United 2

A hard working performance by the whole team, saw United gain a well deserved draw.

United had a lot of possession in the first half and were twice in the lead through goals by Aiden Pring. Heavitree competed well and twice cancelled out United's advantage making it level at half-time.

The second half was well balanced with both sides battling well and having chances to win the game. Barnaby Gard did well in defence and Ruari Mold came close to getting the winner with an excellent run and shot, which was well saved. James Pearce competed well in midfield.

Thorverton 3 Central City 1

Central city battled well against a strong Thorverton side. After conceeding an early goal , Central drew level before half time when Reece Allen fired in a low shot from just over the half way line. Central contained relentless pressure in the second half thanks to solid defensive performances from Thomas Roome and Reece Allen, while William Caschere made some good saves in his debut in goal.

Thorverton 10 Central Utd 0

Central United battled hard to compete with the physical stature and skill of a good Thorverton side. The final score didn't do justice to a fabulous display in goal by James Bryant who surely deserved the man of the match award. The whole central squad showed their growing maturity by not becoming down hearted and continuing to battle. Aiden Pring and James Pearce came close to scoring.
