Kentisbeare 5 - Central Utd 9
A thrilling 9-5 victory for central secured their 2nd win of the season in net-busting style. Kentisbeare took the lead early on, but Central canceled out their lead when Ruari Mold's shot was deflected off two players, teeing Richard Dee Shapland to finish neatly. Centrals second goal came when Mold threaded the ball through to Dee Shapland who slotted home. Not stopping at two goals, Central put another away another thanks to the Mold/ Dee Shapland combination. The two teams came out in the 2nd half exhausted, but willing to score more. James Pearce found himself on the right wing in possession. He cut inside and played an inch perfect cross onto Ben Haigh's head, who powered a header past the stranded 'keeper. At 4-1 , Pearce yet again had a bit of space on the right wing and crossed it to Dee Shapland head to score the fifth. But two quick fire Kentisbeare goals brought Central under a lot of pressure. But Leon Ryder-Potter added to Centrals tally, making it 6-3 and all to play for. Kentisbeare scored another. However, a great passing move from Dee Shapland to Haigh and finally to Ryder Potter, whose cool finish made Centrals 7th. But again, Kentisbeare scored ( their 4th goal ). Jacques Croze played an infield ball to Gurmukh Singh, who heard his determined manager scream '' Shoot! ''. Singh hesitated, then drove the ball venomously over the stranded 'Keeper to dip into the left-hand top corner. Kentisbeare scored another but it was not enough to clench victory from the jaws of defeat. Cain Garry put in an amazing performance in goal, keeping Central in contention for victory.

Central City 2 - 3 Brixington Blues
Aiden Pring scored a well deserved goal for Central City, but even with the help of an own goal they were unable to beat Brixington Blues. The whole City team played well and surely deserve to get a point sometime soon.
Please also find attached a postponement form for last week's match (Pinhoe are the home team but I said I would let you know)-postponed till Apr 3rd regards Chris

Central City 2 - 3 St Martins
Central City were unlucky to come out second best following their best performance of the season. Great team play all round help produce 2 goals for Bradley Down. Jake Newman excelled in goal. William Johns worked tirelessly on the left wing putting in another great outfield performance.

Crediton Saints 6 - 1 Central United
On a beautiful morning for football, Central United travelled to Crediton for
this first round cup match.
United started with a strongly defensive formation, anticipating a tough match
against Saints. Crediton scored an early goal, which seemed to be a wake-up call
and from then on Central dug in, defending well up the pitch and playing a
man-marking style of football. Ruari Mold made some good runs up the right, and
Central managed to share possession about fifty-fifty with the home side for
most of the first half, almost managing an equalizer when Ritchie Deeshapland’s
shot went just wide.
Unfortunately for United, with about five minutes to go in the first half,
Crediton found themselves with players unmarked at the top of the box, and
opened the scoring. Central players’ heads went down somewhat, and Crediton were
able to respond with three more goals in quick succession before the whistle
went for half time.
In the second half, Central again held the home side well, with Ben Haigh
successfully closing down Crediton’s influential number 10, the whole back four
working as unit and playing good through balls for Ritchie Deeshapland and
Gurmak Singh to run on to.
The second half remained goalless for the first twenty minutes, until a rare
defensive error left a Crediton player unmarked – five nill to Crediton.
United keeper Cain Garry made some outstanding saves, particularly of one high,
looping shot that seemed certain to find the target, and Central found
themselves the fitter team against a tiring Crediton, who perhaps
unsurprisingly, felt that the job had been done. Nevertheless, United kept going
forward, and were rewarded after a through ball found Deeshapland who, in Paul
Gasciogne mode, flicked it over the last defender and powered the ball past the
Crediton keeper.
Central continued to apply pressure, but were sadly to concede another through
an unfortunate own goal at the close.
Overall, well done lads. You played a skilful and well drilled team and didn’t
let yourselves down.
POSITIVES – People held their positions, markers stuck to their man, strikers
and midfielders tracked back to defend when necessary.
TO WORK ON – Communication. Call for the ball! Too many players competing
against their own team mates. Look for simple passes, and get the ball under
control. Don’t let your heads go down when you concede a goal.

Central United 4 - 8 Stoke Hill
After victory in their previous match, Central UTD might have been expecting
an easy ride against Stoke Hill – this was not to be the case! Stoke Hill
started strongly, quickly going one up. This was followed by two more in quick
succession as United seemed to be asleep, both goals coming from moves started
by Stoke Hill’s right winger.
United managed to string some passes together, and got the score back to four
two by half time.
In the second half, Central began to look more cohesive, Richard Deeshapland and Leon Ryder-Potter linking up more effectively to challenge the Stoke Hill defence. However, some non committal tackling led to Stoke Hill playing unchallenged through the middle of the pitch, and the final score was eight four to Stoke Hill.

Twyford 4 - 3 Central City
A late goal from a dubiously awarded free kick denied Central City a point they thoroughly deserved against Twyford. Twyford had the better of the first half but Central kept them at bay until conceding 2 goals in quick succession 5 minutes before the end of the first half. Bradley Down pulled one back for Central just before half time with a glancing header from an Aiden Pring cross. Central asserted themselves more in the second half drawing level after Bradley Down scored following a blistering solo run. Aiden Pring put Central in the lead poking in a long throw from Jim Shepherd. Twyford levelled it at 3 a piece with 8 minutes to go and it looked all set for a draw until Twyford were awarded a free kick in a dangerous position one minute before full time which they duly converted to make it 4-3.
